Sixth Grade Language Arts Syllabus

ACMS 2009-2010
Course Description Language Arts includes both reading and writing. Students will
focus on topics such as: narrative and expository writing, grammar, research skills,
poetry, novel studies, and the writing process. Through our course of study, we will
address all olorado State !odel ontent Standards.
Materials Students will be provided with a "riter#s $otebook at the beginning of the
year. This notebook will be used for in%class work as well as writing homework.
&omework will consist of nightly '( minute writing assignments, as well as other ma)or
pro)ects that are not finished in class. *ood writers need to write everyday in order to
improve+ therefore you will be expected to complete your writing homework every night.
