Pre-Cleaning of Pipe Spools

Cesco propose the following procedure for Hydro jetting job for Pipe Spools.

Pre-Cleaning of Pipe Spools and Double Length Pipe








CESCO will take over after NDT process is done.
Pre-Cleaning of double length pipe spools will be carried out by either
a. Hydro-jetting
b. Chemical Cleaning
Cleaning of pipe spool will be done at either one of the three locations proposed, depending
on the Project team.
The three locations that are proposed are Batam Fabrication Workshop, Singapore Cesco
Workshop and On-Site Hydro-jetting.
Taking into consideration of the logistics, planning and better control of the whole job
process, CESCO will propose the Pre-Cleaning job to be carried out at Singapore CESCO
workshop.
CESCO will carry out the hydro-jetting job using Hydro-jetting pump of Max-Capacity.
This will clear all the surface deposits and fabricating sediments.
Drying of internal pipe
After Cleaning of pipe is being carried out, Drying of the internal pipe is very important.
Compressed Air or Nitrogen (N
2
) is used to do the drying for the internal pipe surface.
CESCO ensure that the surface is dry for inspection.
Inspection of Pipe
Visual Inspection of the pipe is done to ensure that the internal surface is clean and dry to
bare metal.
Video inspection using Boroscope will also be carried out to have better real-time check on
pipe cleanliness.

of mineral oil
Application of Base Oil
A thin film of mineral oil is being applied onto the internal surface of the pipe spool to
prevent rust and oxidization

The two end of the pipe are then END-CAPPED and wrapped completely to prevent
contaminant from coming into contact with the internal surface.
Transporting to Site
Cleaned Pipe spools will be handed over to REL for transporting to site for installation.
