The learners use the writing skill as part of a

Controlled & guided writing:
Learners practice the skills with increasing
freedom.
Familiarizing:
To make learners aware of certain features of a particular
text.

Meaning
-Mainly concerned about the structure
of language
-Writing development is the process of
imitation of input

Advantages
1. Recognize the need for learners
to be given linguistic
knowledge about texts

2. Understand that imitation is
in which people learn

3. Models can lead learners to be
aware of various aspects of
writing.
Disadvantages
1. Planning a text are given a small role

2. The knowledge and skills are undervalued

3. Prevent L2 learners creativity

4. Use the same plan in different setting, apply
the same forms, regardless the content,
thereby inhibiting writers.
