Learning Experience 8- What are the Threats: Investigate the problems facing
animals in the wild.

Student Experiences:
1. Discuss with students how one person being absent from school may impact their peers, teacher and other school personnel (Education World, 2014). 2. Make connections between points discussed above and animals becoming extinct. 3. Read and discuss pages 14 and 15 with students 4. Number students off (1-6: according to the 6 threats in the book). 5. Students will use resources (books, computers ect.) to investigate the threat they were given. 6. After 20 minutes research time, each separate threat group will meet to discuss what they found (eg. All ones get together). 7. Then, groups of 6 will be formed (containing one representative of each threat group). 8. 15 minutes will be allowed for each member to teach the other members of their group about the threat they have explored.
