Word Wall

Brief Description (in your own words):
This is a wall or bulletin board built by the teacher and the students that has words that are
part of the objective. They are words or concepts that are key components to the lesson. The
students will be able to define the words by the end of the unit.


How you plan to use this strategy in your Practicum, Internship, Student Teaching, or in your
classroom:
I would use this strategy in my practicum when introducing new words and concepts to my
students. When I am teaching younger kids for example and I am teaching locomotor
movements I would have different types of movements on the word wall and go over different
words each day and define and show students and have the students demonstrate the
movements as well. In secondary schools I would use the word wall when teaching sport
education. When they are playing sports the words on the wall would be words that relate to
the sport and they would be able to add words to the wall as they learned more about the
sport.
