Guide on Setting Up Harvard Referencing and In-text citation
Before you start, copy the file HarvardAPUEdition.XSL to the following location and restart your Microsoft Word 2007 or 2010 (2013 sometimes not working). Put here: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\Bibliography\Style\" Or try here: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\Bibliography\Style\"
Part 1: Harvard Reference List 1. Where? Everything on referencing and citations are located at: (References ribbon > Citations & Bibliography)
2. Select Harvard style. (Harvard APU* by zhuhang)
3. Get you sources. (Internet, Books etc)
4. Add your sources to Microsoft Word (Manage Sources>New)
5. Fill in details of your source as guided below. Press OK.
Title of the online article Year published Year you read this (eg. 2013) Month you read this (eg. October) Date you read this (eg. 30) Web address of the article Not needed unless you know it. Name of the author (if available) Name of the website (eg. The Sun) 6. Insert Bibliography (References list) in a new page, or last page.
7. You will get a reference list with the sources you added.
8. Each time you added a source to the sources manager, you need to update table.
I use this source as an example. Change the title Bibliography to References Part 2: Harvard In-Text Citation (updated 301013) 1. Now to add citation to the text you used from the source. Move your typing cursor to the end of the sentence or paragraph. (Important: Before full-stop)
2. Click Insert Citation and choose the source you want to add.
