THE SEVEN STRANDS -
- EVERY YEAR GROUP


A) Project and theme based approach for a
whole Year Group or the Phase for core subjects
planned with cross curricular links. The Digital
day/week!

B) Drama, theatre, art and music to be
systematically planned with the use of prescribed
lessons in Languages.

B) Community and the outside links and use of
I CT with a focus and direction to encourage
I nnovation and implementation within the agreed
framework of the lessons/portions of the syllabus.

D) Distributive Leadership and Management to
ensure the participation of all members within the
Year group and technically accurate tracking
without personnel interventions Learning Bay
Class Council.
E) Attitude and Behavior- Personal and Social
responsibilities linked to the policy and procedure
with implication to consequences of behavior
positive or negative - refer to and link Learning
Bay Council Reports.

F) Health and Safety connected to the routine of
daily life and systematically distributed across the
school empowering everyone into the process.

G) Teaching, Learning and Skills development
redressed with best practices and promote
conversations with the teacher and the learner.

When we seek to discover the best in others,
we somehow bring out the best in ourselves.

There are seven Operational strands to
be made as visible action plans in every
Year Group and the concept and
implementation for the same would be
led by the teams mentioned alongside
every strand!
Redefine the Teaching platform and the
Learning platform as independently
complimentary to each other and
redesigning their way forward through
Skills development!
Hope that is a way forward in relation to
the DSIB framework indicators which
could be used across each Phase as a
means to track and evaluate and develop
the School Evaluation Form.
We need to urgently look into replacing
old redundant practices with innovative
approaches in Leadership and
Management so as to move the School
within every Year Group.
The learning needs of the learners is at the
heart of this approach and we all need to
pull together integrating whatever
resources are available and initiate a
process of facilitation and coordination to
ensure that the dominant teacher recedes
into the background and the invisible
teacher emerges onto the foreground!

Having completed almost twenty eventful years, the young
people go out with the commitment of making their voice
count even as they address the great questions of their
times. The celebration of diversity informs all our programs
and initiatives, providing a nurturing space for
experimentation and interrogating stereotypes. The spirit of
community enables and encourages every individual to reach
out and make a difference.
This is a place not only of teaching but collaborative
scholarship reinforcing a very special interaction between
students and faculty. Here students enjoy a good deal of
freedom in shaping their academic experience.
The Westminster offers a unique combination of resources in
a space that provides unusual intellectual and cultural
opportunities. The experiential motifs that enrich this
tapestry harmonize collective institutional responsibility with
democratic space and combine challenge with
encouragement.

The Westminster School, Dubai, is a community that continually
