Ny euucational philosophy is Essentialism anu this is often consiueieu a
conseivative stance on Euucation. Essentialism holus that stuuents shoulu be
euucateu with the coie cuiiiculum such as Nathematic, English, Bistoiy, anu
Science. While I uo believe that teaching stuuents funuamental subjects is vitally
impoitant, I think that it is also vitally impoitant to cieate a stiong sense of
community so that stuuents aie in an enviionment wheie they aie able to leain the
funuamental cuiiiculum. Baving a systematic appioach to managing a classioom is
key to cieating an atmospheie that is conuucive to leaining. A stiong sense of
community makes leaining a comfoitable expeiience foi each membei of the
classioom. Stuuents will be able to leain the necessaiy mateiial in classioom that is
tailoieu to builuing stiong ielationships anu a community. A stiong community has
suppoits in place foi stuuents to be able to iecovei themselves when they stiay
away fiom the set expectations of the classiooms Fuitheimoie, they will be able to
leain skills thiough inteiacting with classmates that will seive them well in the
futuie when they aie beyonu the setting of the classioom. Stuuents will have
suppoit fiom fellow teacheis, counselois, auministiatois, anu paients in oiuei to
help them achieve success behavioially anu acauemically. While Essentialism
focuses much on acauemic peifoimance, it is impoitant to unueistanu how to
ensuie that acauemic success is achieveu anu maintaineu by managing a classioom
that is able to piouuce iesults that is satisfactoiy to euucatois, stuuents, anu
paients.
