Garlicks Autism Classroom Management Plan

Students will have an individual star chart with their name printed on it.
The charts will be located on their desk or on the board. Students will earn
stars on their chart for following directions, completing tasks/work on time
and having a positive attitude while they are in the classroom. When
students earn 10 stars in a row they will earn a reinforcement item of their
choice for 5 minutes. Each student will have their own timer and will start
and stop the timer during this period of free choice. The student will start
their star chart over after receiving a reinforcement item.
If a student misbehaves stars will be deleted from their chart. If the
student has more than 3 stars removed from their chart the student will
follow the consequences as posted in the Rules and Consequences of our
classroom. I will use logical consequences for the students actions when it
is appropriate. (For example: If a student intentionally damages a
classroom item, they will have to pay for the item.) Suzanne Garlick
