Dear Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon,

I am a Greek United Nations Representative and I am writing to report to you of a war

that is happening north of my country in Yugoslavia. It is surprising that it started just recently
because of the many ethnic groups that live in the area. They have always been suspicious of
each other and the U.N. should have played more attention here. Tito was able to keep that
together using force but now that he is gone everything is in chaos. A man by the name of
Solobadan Milosevic has come into power and wants to rule the whole nation.
There is so much destruction and murder happening. When Solobadan Milosevic rose to
power Slovenia and Croatia wanted to leave and become independent but that would mean
Milosevic Would have less land and didnt want that to happen. He sent in the military as an
attempt to stop them but to avail. Slovenia and Croatia were able to become free however at a
terrible cost.
In the battle between them many have died and suffered but not just from being
casualties of war but from something more sinister then that. The Serbian leader Solobadan
Milosevic has held a genocide against the Muslims. Even that safe camps that we tried to make
to protected the people failed and made things worse. The Serbians took many of them over
and kill the people in them. This goes against the very foundation of the United Nations to stop
atrocities of this world. We should have paid more attention here instead of focusing all of our
efforts on the Persian Gulf war.
