BRI Expands Enzyme Research and Development Credentials
Research Triangle Park, N.C.February 7, 2014BioResource International, Inc. (BRI), an agricultural biotechnology company specializing in the research and development of enzymes, has been awarded another US patent. With the new patent, the company expands its intellectual property portfolio in enzyme technology to include the use of its proprietary protease feed additive in both poultry and swine diets. This patent allows us to expand our reach into the swine market where this enzyme demonstrates an equally strong value proposition, said CEO Giles Shih. The companys first product, Versazyme, has become the leading protease enzyme in poultry feed as a result of consistent premium performance demonstrated in the field.
The success of our protease enzyme continues to fuel our growth and has built a foundation upon which to expand our portfolio of feed enzyme solutions, added CEO Giles Shih. We are in the process of introducing to the market another proprietary, premium performance enzyme, this time, a xylanase. We are very pleased with the high level of interest in this new product during last weeks IPPE conference in Atlanta, GA.
BRI has also expanded the expertise of its research and development team with the addition of Dr. Sanjeewa Rupasinghe in the position of Research Scientist. Dr. Rupasinghe is a protein biochemist-enzymologist with a BS in Biology from the University of Colombo and a PhD from the University of Illinois. A published scientist, Dr. Rupasinghe has over ten years of industrial and academic experience in enzymology, enzyme characterization and engineering and protein

We are most excited to welcome Sanjeewa to our technology team, said Dr. JJ Wang, CTO and Senior VP of Research and Development. His experience and skills are an excellent complement to those of the rest of our team members and will prove invaluable as we continue to develop innovative, sustainable solutions that help to feed the growing world population.
