Research and Reflection Writing Assignment
20 Point Extra Credit Assignment
(Required if assigned due to consequences for class behavior.)

1.) Students will research into, reflect upon, and write in detail about one International
Baccalaureate (IB) Attitude OR Learner Profile for the specific purpose of growing in and
developing in our own character, knowledge, and abilities in accord with the IB which
will contribute to the learning of others and as a means of personal self-expression.

1.) You are to write a 1-2 page expository essay on this one IB Attitude or IB Learner Profile.

2.) You MUST complete a Thinking Map http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thinking_Maps
Graphic Organizer FIRST such as a circle, bubble, cluster, flow, brace, tree, or Concept
Map http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concept_map (also known as a Mind Map
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind_map) before you write your essay, and turn it in with
your essay to receive the highest possible score on this assignment.
3.) You essay will NOT be accepted without a pre-writing Thinking Map Graphic Organizer.
4.) You can create your Thinking Map by hand on paper OR you can use this website to
create your first 3 maps for free at http://bubbl.us. Please submit your Thinking Map to
me through Edmodo if you create it as a file or as an online website URL location.

5.) You should type this essay on MS Word and post it to Edmodo for the highest grade.
6.) You can write this essay by hand and submit it on paper IF you have no computer and no
internet available time alternative.

7.) You must use the proper heading in the upper right hand corner (justified right) on your
essay:
