The Karpagam Educational Trust was founded in the

year 1989 with the aim to provide good education to
the people of the area, cater to the needs of the poor
and serve the society in general through its charitable
deeds. Dr.R.Vasanthakumar, Chancellor, Karpagam

Karpagam University's (Karpagam Academy of
Higher Education) genesis goes back to September
1995, when it was initiated as Karpagam Arts &
Science College. The college was promoted by the
Karpagam Charity Trust, incepted by the renowned
Karpagam Industries. Today, 15 years later, those
humble beginnings have paved way for us to emerge
as a University of repute, a status granted by the
MHRD and UGC (Under Section 3 of UGC Act,
1956) in 2008. The passion and endeavour to ensure

D EPARTMENT OF M ANAGEMENT S TUDIES &

R ESEARCH
With the first Post-Graduate department being established in 1996, the
Department of Business Administration offers two-year full-time MBA
programme with dual specializations in Finance, HR, Marketing and
Systems. Keeping pace with the frequent changes and dynamics of Management Studies, the Department amplifies the thrust on emerging minds
in Management. Backed by an experienced faculty, it is recognized to
offer research programmes M.Phil and Ph.D, both on FT & PT basis.
Besides business principles, the Department is committed to foster the
essence of business ethics and values. Further the department takes the
following initiatives to enhance students knowledge: Corporate Research
Exercises, Company Analysis, Meet the Executive programme, Personality Development Programme, Management Meet, Management Games,
and Student Interaction Programme and so on...

R ESOURCE P EOPLE

Prof CM Maran, Faculty, VIT Business School, VIT

University, Vellore, holds Ph.D and Masters Degree
in the field of Management and Information Technology. He acquired M.Phil in Management and PhD in
ICT. He has more than 15 years of professional experience in teaching, research and consultancy. He is
supporting various industries in the field of ERP, Data
Mining, Business Intelligence, Management Research
and Technology Management. He is a Certified SAP
Consultant. He has published more than 35 research
papers in reputed journals. He organized various national workshops and seminars.

The two day workshop shall provide hands on experience on Research

Methods and Data Analysis using IBM SPSS & AMOS and its graphical
interactive path modeling tools. The workshop shall be highly interactive
with major focus on Hands on Practices and usage of software tools and
techniques. This program is designed for Research Scholars and Academic staff with a thirst in Research

Prof.B.Ravikumar, Faculty, VIT Business School,

VIT University, Vellore, has qualified in Master of
Philosophy in statistics and MBA in Finance. He has
published 11 research papers in National and International Journal of repute. His area of interest is Business Analytics, Mediation Analysis and Structural
Equation Modeling (SEM). He has conducted several
National Workshops on Advanced Data Analysis and
Structural Equation Modeling using SPSS and AMOS
in and outside VIT University, association with IBM
SPSS.
