Response 4 September 9, 2014 Explorations Ch. 2-3 When trying to find a topic for your filed of inquiry, exigence might proceed your dissonance. In my case, my discipline would be business and to find personal dissonance I would go through the process of finding preliminary research. Through this process I would look up what is needed to get a business major, go the articles, and then pick the topic of that article that appeals to myself personally. After I would come up with question for that topic and break them down so my focus on the inquiry would be efficient. Next is to formulate your research. To do this you examine your information and break it down into three, primary research, secondary research, and ethics of research. Primary research involves working directly with people. Secondary research involves working with material and working with the ideas of other people. Finally ethic of research is based on perspective and how they change over time. Research Question Heuristic 1. Business. 2. My exigence with business is that I am majoring in it right now because I can become an accountant or join the FBI. As for my dissonance I dont know what my classes are going to be about and what Im going to learn throughout my four years in that discipline. 3. I want to conduct inquiry so I could know if this is the right path I want to take for my degree. 4. Am I taking the right path in choosing business as my discipline? 5. How are my classes going to be? Are they going to be difficult for me? What other jobs can I peruse with a business/accounting degree? 6. Do I like business as my discipline?
