Annie Lebovitz- Fairytale

Annie Lebovitz is an amazing pho-

tographer that is well known for her
dramatic type images. Heres a little
bit of information on her that you
may not have known. Annie was
born October 2, 1949 in Waterbury,
Connecticut. Her family was always
moving due to her fathers military
status, so her frst picture was taken
when they were stationed in the
Philipeens during the Vietnam War
and from that day on she was inter-
ested in photography. After getting
into photography she worked with
Rolling Stonez magazine for 10
years. She is currently 65 years old
and I think a word that would de-
scribe her would be a photojournal-
ist.

Steve McCurry
Steve McCurry is another well
known photographer and his pho-
tography would be described as
Global Gernalist. He was born Feb-
ruary 24, 1950 in Pennsylvania. He
wasnt always interested in photog-
raphy at one point he was planning
to study flm making. He didnt be-
come interested in photography till
he started taking pictures for Penn
State Newspaper. He is currently 64
and still going strong with his pho-
tography.

Dorthea Lange
Dorthea wasan infuential Ameri-
can documentary photographer and
photogernalist. She took pictures
during the great depression, a time
that was flled with such sadness
and it showed in every picture she
captured. So heres a little history of
her life, she was born May 26, 1895
in Hoboken, New Jersy. Hoboken
was the place where she grew up as
an only child. She later moved to
New York, to study photography at
the Columbia University. Sadly she
died of cancer on October 11, 1965
in San Francisco at the age of 70.

Margaret Bourke White
Margaret was born June 14, 1904
in the Bonx, New York. She grew
up in the town of Bound Brook,
New Jersy. Her interest for photog-
raphy was a bit different from the
other photographers because her
father was actually very enthusi-
astic for cameras and seeing that
photography then became a hobby
for Margaret. Margaret died August
27, 1971, in Stamford, Connecticut.
Margaret would be described as a
documentary photographer.
Robert Capa
Robert was another well known
photographer some would say he
was a photogernalist. He was born
October 22, 1913 in Budapest, Aus-
tria- Hungary. Robert left home at
the age of 18 and became a Hungar-
ian war photographer. He died May
25,1954 at the age of 40. Not much
is known about the life of Robert
Capa but you cant say the same
thing about his photography because
he was a famous photographer just
as Dorthea Lange and Ansel Adams.

Ansel Adams
Ansel Adams was born Feburaury
20, 1902, in San Francisco. Grow-
ing up he was an only child.If you
have ever seen pictures of Ansel you
will notice a scar on his nose, he got
that scar running into a garden wall
during an after shock. He produced
his frst photograph in 1921. Ansel
Adams died April 22, 1984 of Ca-
diovascular Disease.
