OPEN LETTER

Dianne Craig, President and CEO
Ford Motor Company of Canada

Via email: dcraig7@ford.com

Dear Ms. Craig,

I write today to raise an urgent matter regarding our shared interest in the future of Ford
and the City of Windsor.

When I heard the news that talks between the Ford Motor Company of Canada and the
Canadian and Provincial governments broke down, I was devastated for the community,
the workers and their families.

On Monday October 27
th
, municipal elections will be held across Ontario and I hope to
be elected the new Mayor of Windsor. I previously served as Mayor from 1988-1991,
after two terms as City Councillor, and can hit the ground running, having worked with
governments of all political stripes, business and labour.

During my term as Mayor, I negotiated a deal to secure Windsors iconic waterfront
lands from railroad conglomerates as well as half of the Windsor-Detroit car tunnel.
Those were huge challenges at the time and the City has reaped the benefits.

I implore you to give me an opportunity to make an improved offer that works better for
all parties.

I will do everything in my power to mobilize our community and its provincial and
federal representatives to do what it takes to keep this investment in Windsor and the
quality jobs that come with it.

I know I can do better. I am eager to meet to discuss this critical issue.

I am motivated to find a new deal that will ensure Fords $1.5 billion investment comes
to Windsor please work with me.

Sincerely,

John Millson
