Work Experience:
Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, 04/2013-present- Normal, AL - Academic Advising Center, Lead
Academic Advisor. Duties include, but not limited to: planning, directing and evaluating all academic advising activities;
supervise, recruit and recommend the appointment of professional staff; supervise freshman orientation courses, ORI 101
& ORI 102; conduct in-service training sessions for new and continuing faculty and staff advisors; present academic
advising related workshops each semester; conducting registration activities for freshmen and new students, serve as
advisor for lower division students and assist in the resolution of academic problems; monitor student progress, assist
students in career exploration activities, collect, organize and analyze information about students through records, tests,
interviews and professional sources; maintain cooperative relations with academic departments and all components

101 & ORI 102, as well as course development for on-line ORI 101 and ORI 102; coordinate & conduct registration

serve as advisor for lower division students and assist in the resolution of academic problems, monitor student progress,
assist students in career exploration activities; collect, organize and analyze information about students through records,
tests, interviews and professional sources for the purpose of educational planning; maintain cooperative relations with
academic departments and all components responsible for student services, assists in the completion of school related
applications and provide instruction for Survival Skills for University Life, ORI 101; Serve as coordinator of registration
education and faculty trainer of academic advising for Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR); Course Developer
for on-line ORI 101

Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, 05/2006-06/2007- Normal, AL Office of Retention & Academic
Support (ORAS), Program Specialist. Duties include, but not limited to: conducting and evaluating students intrusive
academic intake assessments, develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate learning strategies workshops for at-risk
students and students on academic probation, monitor academic progress of at-risk students, maintain and update
confidential files and records relating to individual student progress, develop detail reports on students progress, assist in
coordinating and hosting the Universitys annual conference on retention.

Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, 02/2005-05/2006- Normal, AL- Honors Center, Learning
Enhancement Advisor. Duties include, but not limited to: Managing and conducting various activities for the Honors
Center Program in order to meet varying educational needs of students participating in the program, oversee day-to-day
operations of Honors House, to include management of supplies, equipment, logistics, security, facilities, inventory,
computer lab, student records; train and guide the work of student, graduate and volunteer workers, assist with the
recruitment of new participants, design and maintain bulletin boards, participant directories, and information packets for
program participants. Assist director with the developing, coordinating and hosting the universitys annual Academic
Honors Day Convocation. Provide Instruction for the Honors Orientation 101 class during the fall semester and
Orientation 101(non-honors) during the spring semester, also served on the Academic Honors Day Convocation planning
committee and the New Student Orientation committee.

Enhanced Housing Services, 06/04-02/2005 Hsv, AL- Service Coordinator. Duties include, but not limited to:
Research, develop and maintain a network of service providers for elderly and disabled population. Set up and maintain a
service directory of local community resources. Provide general case management and counseling to residents. Increase
residents ability to live independently by providing assistance with entitlement programs, finding and arranging
homemaker services, arranging transportation, grocery shopping, and meals on wheels. Provide assistance with financial,
medical and legal issues. Also responsible for arranging monthly presentations on various educational topics.

State of Alabama: Madison County Department of Human Resources. 05/01-05/04 Hsv, AL- Financial Support
Worker.
Social Work in Public Assistance. Duties include, but not limited to: review and determine client eligibility for public
assistance and food stamps. Interview clients and review application and verification, calculate wages and deductions,
explain policy and eligibility requirements to clients and answer client questions, use of FACETS computer program.

Seraaj Family Homes, Inc. 08/00- 05/01-Hsv, AL- Case Manager/Family Support Worker.
Specializing in Reunification of Families through Therapeutic Foster Care and Wrap Services. Duties include, but not
limited to: ensuring that all children are living in a safe home environment, Enhance the ability of foster children to
achieve educationally, socially, mentally and emotionally, Provide parent training, teach basic living skills, money
management, behavioral support and modification, monitor supervised visitations, assistance in obtaining employment,
housing and rehabilitation services. Also Provide Tutoring, Mentoring, and Socialization skills to assist families with
educational success, safety, security, and stability in living situation.
