Kawar Lake

Once upon the time, there was a big feast in the village. The
village named Kawar, Tanah Karo. The villagers celebrate
their successful harvest. They were dancing and singing.
They served many foods and drinks.

Meanwhile, an old woman was alone at his poor house. She


could not attend the party because nobody invites her. She
was very sick cause starvation. When she felt so hungry, she
went to kitchen but there is no food there. She was so sad.
Nobody took care at her, also her son and daughter.

In the party, her son remembered to his mother. He wrapped


rice and some foods. He asked to his daughter to give that
food to their grandma. The daughter would do it but on her
way from party to her house, she ate the food bite by bite.
Then, she wrapped the food again. When she arrived at
home, she gave the food to her grandma.

Then, the old woman opened the food and felt very
disappointed. There was only very little rice and fish bone.
She cried and prayed to god, “Oh god, I beg you to eliminate
this village and all people here. Because they have forgotten
a poor old woman like me!”

Suddenly, thunder came. The sky turned dark and black. A


big earthquake came and killed all people in the village. That
land turned to big crater. Bid hurricane was pouring on it. It
did not stop for several days. When it stopped, the village
disappeared. There was a large lake replace on the village.
People called it “Lau Kawar”. It means Kawar Lake.

Advice : People must takes care each other. The rich
must helps the poor. The good teach the bad.
All must help each other. If people do it all,
there is no war again on the earth.
