Estimation!
Definition: A rough calculation of the
value, number , quantity , or extent of something.

Examples:
86 + 72=? 933 + 481=? 24 - 91 =? 777 - 112 =?

Estimation:
90 + 70= 160 930 + 480=1,410 20 -90 =60 780 -110= 670

Remember:
If the number is 4 and below round down, if the number is
5 and higher than round down.
Divisibility!
The rules of divisibility:
2 - last digit is even
3 - if the sum of the digit is divisible by 3
4 - if the last two digits form a number divisible by 4
5 - if the last digit is 0 or 5
6 - if the number is divisible by both 2 and 3
9 - if the sum of the digit is divisible by 9
10 - if the last digit ends with a 0
Order of Operations
To answer an order of operations questions,
you need to do it in this order:
Parentheses - Exponents - Multiplication or
Division - Addition or Subtraction

Example:
( 7+7)9x7=?
(7+7)=14 14x9x7
9x7=441 14x441
14 x4 41=6,174

Square Numbers
Definition: Square numbers are the numbers where
you multiply the numbers by itself.

Examples:
7= 49 9= 81

Extra!:
Number cubed is numbers that
are multiplied 3 times.

Exponents
Definition:
How many times you multiply the number

Examples
2 = 2x2x2 = 8
9 = 9x9 = 81
7 = 7x7x7x7 = 2,401

Scientific Notation
Definition:
Its when you take a really large number
or a really small number, and make it bigger
than 1 but smaller than 10.

Examples:
907,100,000 = 9.071 x 10
0.000000007003 = 7.003 x 10
Properties
Properties:
distributive property
identity property of multiplication
identity property of addition
associative property of addition
associative property of multiplication
commutative property of addition
commutative property of multiplication
multiplicative property of zero
Patterns and Sequences
If it is a common difference, it is arithmetic. If it is a common
ratio,If it is a common ratio, it is geometric.Common
difference is the same amount between one
number and the next. Common ratio means being multiplied
by the same thing over and over.

Examples:
10,20,30,40 = Common difference 10 = arithmetic
10,20,30,40 = Common ratio 2 = geometric
Division Review
Definition:
trying to split something into equal groups of numbers.

Examples:
324=8
459=5
14412=12
1,000,00010=100,000
Comparing and Ordering Decimals
Definition:
They are questions where you compare
decimals, or order decimals.

Examples:
Which one is bigger:
6.200 ? 6.100 = >
7.8 ? 9.8 = <
Put these in order least to greatest:
7.2, 7.7, 7.9 =
7.2, 7.7, 7.9

Comparing and Ordering Fractions
Definition:
They are questions where you compare
fractions, and order fractions.

Examples:
Which one is bigger?
? = <
? = >
Put these in order least to greatest:
, ,=
<<

Comparing and Ordering FPD
Definition:
questions where you compare and order
fractions, decimals, and percents.

Example:
Put in order from least to greatest:
9.7, 9,950%=?= 9<950%<9.7
3,2.9,290%=?=2.9=290%<3
Which one is bigger:
9.125 ? 980%= <
? = <
555% ? =>

Ratios
There are three different types of ratios:
part to part,part to whole, and whole to part.
There are also three types of ways to wright
ratios: 2:3, 2 to 3, and 2/3

Examples:
Information needed: 3 shirts, 3 pants,
and 4 shoes.
part to part- ?=3 to 4 and 3 to 3
part to whole-?= 4/10 and 3/10
whole to part-?= 10:4 and 10:3
