Jewelry & Accessories

Outside weather

Please avoid sending your child to school

with bracelets, watches, necklaces, rings
and other accessories. They are becoming
a distraction in our classroom. The easiest
way to avoid daily interruptions as well as
lost items is to keep these items at home.

We will be going outside daily, even on

cooler days. As it starts getting colder
outside, please be sure that you are sending your child in clothing that corresponds
with the weather. Coats as well as mittens and hats should become part of your
childs daily attire. Please also remember
to label your childs clothing with their
name so we can return lost items to the
correct owner.

Visit www.scholastic.com to place your

order.

WEBSITE & WEEKLY

HAPPENINGS
The best way to keep up with all thats
happening in our classroom and in your
childs school life is to check our web page
frequently. Reading the weekly happenings
in detail, will provide you with tons of
insight as to what weve been up to and all
the things your child is learning through it.
Be sure to match up the KDIs (Key
Developmental Indicators)(see webpage for
KDI handout) with the KDIs on the weekly
happenings page to see the KDIs we touch
on each week and see all the skills and
areas your child is learning and growing in.

Part of our daily routine is Small Group

Time. During Small Group Time our class
divides into two groups, half with Ms.
Kyla & half with Ms. Laura. These
groups are consistent each day. During
this time, children experiment with
materials, solve problems, practice new
skills and develop old skills further. Each
day our small group activity is based on
childrens interests, skill level and
content areas that suit childrens
developmental learning needs. Our
small groups are going very well! Ask
your child to share more with you about
their daily Small Group Time.

As the end of the month gets closer, we

will be reading the book Stone Soup and
making our own Stone Soup and having our
very own feast. We will be asking families
to send in different produce items to help
us make our soup. Look for a notice about
that soon!
