Project Title

: Reconditioning of Steam turbine Rotor

the defect analysis report

: Jan 2012 - Feb2012

Synopsis of Project : We received a damaged steam turbine rotor as a part

of our project. From then on, We conducted various tests on it and observed
that the 3rd and 4th stage blades were damaged along with the bearing. As a
part of our solution approach, We manufactured new steam turbine
blades.There after, We performed rotor balancing and carried out different
NDT tests like magnetic particle inspection, die penetrant test and ultrasonic
test on the rotor to finally preserve the assembled rotor by applying anti
rusting agents.
