During this time, I came to know her both professionally and personally. The Child Development Center is a laboratory schoo! located on the campus of Seton Hill University that focuses its attention to providing a developmentally appropriate program for preschool children. The center is directed by the Education Division of the University. It has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) since 1995, and is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. In the fall semester of 2011, I hired Lauren as an assistant teacher at the Child Development Center. Lauren engaged in various duties including: clerical work, large and small group instruction, planning and preparation of curriculum materials, and supervision of the children, Lauren approached this work experience with enthusiasm, a sense of responsibility, and self motivation. These characteristics carried through into every aspect of her employment, Her job performance was outstanding. Additionally, as part of several course requirements, Lauren was required to participate in practicum time at the Child Development Center. ‘The practicum criteria included: interaction, observation, and supervision of the children, She was always willing to do more than was required. ‘As an education student at Seton Hill University, Lauren taught several lessons at the Child Development Center. Lauren’s lessons were well planned, organized, and executed. Additionally, her lessons were creative and reflected her knowledge of child development. Lauren is a mature young woman with an exceptional work ethic. She was a role model and mentor to newly employed staff. Lauren always presented herself in a professional manner. Her character alone made her an asset to our program, Lauren has the characteristics, skills, and knowledge to be successful in any endeavor she may choose. I give her my highest recommendation.
