Criteria The essay respond appropriately to the assignment by addressing and explaining two sides of a debatable issue and proposing a solution that reaches a common ground
Criteria 2 In-text citations support the examples the writer uses for both sides of the argument and are introduced and then explained in terms of how they connect to the argument.
At least 6-8 sources used and cited correctly. Works Cited page is done correctly. Follows MLA formatting standards with obvious attention paid to correcting grammatical and syntax errors.

Criteria 3 The essay begins with a well-explained introduction that engages the audience and provides necessary background information for the audience to understand the issue.
The writer states the opposing point of view and provides examples of situations in which that view is valid. The writer provides enough evidence and support for each side of the issue.

Criteria 4 Specifically addresses course outcomes with clear examples of how the outcomes were met. Discusses the writer's growth by specifically referring to work done during Project 3.
