Child Abuse
Child abuse is caused by some parents that are bad role models to their children because
they were also abused in their childhood too. It is not also physical it can be mentally abuse too.
Due to child abuse, there are many children out there running away from home, getting in
trouble, and not going to school. There can be a stop to this if everyone is aware of child abuse
and do something about it. The parents doing harmful things to children should be punished.
Children should be loved and in good care.
According to Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia, Child abuse can be physical, sexual, or
emotional maltreatment or neglect of children by parents, guardians, or others responsible for a
child's welfare. Child abuse is a horrible thing that should never be done to children. They
should be in good care and grow up to be successful. Children take after the way their parents
raise them. If they were raised in an abusive household the child would have a challenging life. If
a child is around parents who smoke and drink, its most likely that the child will grow up to do
those things and take their parents steps in life. It is very important to guide a child to the right
path and be great role models to them.
If a child has been abused all their life they would be attempted to run away from home
which would cause bigger problems. According to Alekseeva, (Every year, 150,000160,000

children are registered as a run away from home to avoid abuse.) There is also something else
called DSS: Child Protective Service that can take a child away from their parents if the parents
are neglecting or physically abusing the child. After DSS has been called they would take the
child to a foster home. Everyone should be aware of child abuse. This article is relevant to this
research because it explains what happens when a child is abused at home.
There are some cases that one of the parents get child custody. There is full custody
where one parent gets full responsibility and there is part custody where one parent has the child
for a week and the other parents gets the child for the weekend. To get custody of a child is a
hard difficult process. In some scenarios children can be abused by only one of the parents, it is
not always both parents. If that is the case then the other parent would not be able to see their
child and would try to get custody of them. In fact, according to Patel and Laura, (the U.S.
Census Bureau (2011) reported that nearly 46% of children do not live with both biological
parents.) In most cases the mother usually has full custody of their child, but also the father can
have their child on the weekends. Children gets depressed because of going back and forth
between both parents and having new step moms and step dads. This article is good for this
research because it shows the effect of the parents and children.
Everyone should be against child abuse because its a cruel thing to them. A child
deserves to be loved, treated right, and to be successful. There can be a stop to this if they word
gets spread around. Everything effects the parents and the children in every way. Hopefully in
the future there will be no more child abuse.
