have moving forward, except in Science &
Social Studies

The state requires the following for all:
PALS (4K-2)
SmarterBalanced in ELA & Math (3-8)
WKCE in Science & Social Studies (4,8,10)
Aspire in 9-10
ACT in 11th
(there are additional requirements for students who are not proficient in
English or students who cannot meaningfully participate in these assessments
DLM and ACCESS)

STAR testing 3x annually in grades 2-10
Fountas and Pinnell 2x annually in grades
1-3

Elementary reading and math show improved scores in
the report card areas of growth
Above state average in post-secondary readiness

Gap is widening district-wide between special education
and regular education
12.5% of 3rd grade (2013) reading are proficient (0%
advanced); 15.6% math are proficient (3.1% advanced)-this is corroborated by STAR testing

Assessment Review
A committee is looking at all or our testing,
how we are using it, and what we need
moving forward. Currently in addition to
state required testing, we administer MAP
(grades 1-10), STAR (grades 2-10) and
Fountas and Pinnell (K-3).

ACT
State results: This is the last year that will
reflect a selected population (other states
have gone to all-school testing already).
73% of students in WI took the ACT in 201314. Average score is 22.2
