Installation, Configuration and Administration of IBM WebSphere

Application Server 6.0.x, and WebSphere Portal Server 5.1.0.4 on
AIX/Linux platform

Trouble shooting errors both Application & JVM also analyzed heap/core
plus error logs -- configured tuned JVM for optimum performance.

Created and managed data source and database connection pools.

Involved in performance tuning of Application Server, Web Container, EJB
Container and database connection pool.

Coordination between Application Support Team(Team supporting the

application), Testing team, Release Management (Team responsible for
releasing application in Production Environment), Compliance Team,

Infrastructure Team, Capacity Management Team, Architecture Board,

License Management for streamlined successful application release in
Production Live environment.

Responsible for deploying enterprise applications from Admin console and

enabling security using LTPA and LDAP for admin console and application
components on AIX.

Configured Clusters and Instances for improved availability and failover

capability.

Extensively used the Thread Analyzer to detect and analyze application

problems.

Analyzing the scalability of applications with the help of tools like IBM
Tivoli Site Analyzer.

Monitored Applications and WAS performance through Tivoli Performance

Viewer and tuned the system -- caching, queuing, JVM parameters, DB
Connection Pooling.

Involved in setting up JVM tuning parameters after extensive R&D on trial

& hit basis -- specifically parameters to enable inter core-group
communication (for affective WLM) such as (cluster preload, xgcthread)
garbage collection.

Regularly attended meetings on behalf of Middleware Team & co-ordinate

with different teams for task accomplishment.

Created IBM Problem Management Records (PMR) to report WebSphere

Application Server problems. Analyzed log files to solve problems using
debugging tools like Log Analyzer, First Failure Data Capture Tool and
Collector Tool.

Involved in architecting core-groups in the environment their by logically

separating related application JVM into single core group to enhance
performance.
