History of Reggaeton

My favorite genre is reggaeton because is what I grew up having to wake up to every

morning and go to sleep to every night. All of my relatives would listen to it nonstop when we
were all together. Being Puerto Rican I would hear reggaeton, salsa and merengue, but reggaeton
is the genre that I fell in love with. The genre of reggaeton has been around since the early
1960s. Reggaeton is a mixture of reggae and hip hop. The history of reggaeton has a lot of
different paths of origin. Reggaeton has ties from Jamaica and Puerto Rico that you can hear in
every reggaeton song. Don Omar has had a huge influence reggaeton. He gave reggaeton the
ability to spread throughout the whole world. You cannot talk about the history of reggaeton
without talking about Don Omar. Don Omar said it best in Danza Kuduro No te canses ahora
que esto solo empieza which means do not lose your breath now because this has just started.
Danza Kuduro is the song that changed the history of reggaeton forever.
The history of reggaeton is mostly associated with Puerto Rico and Jamaica. reggaeton
became popular all around the world in the 1990s. reggaeton is a combination of reggae and hip
hop. Reggae originated in Jamaica in the 1960Hip Hop originated in Harlem, New York during
the 1970s. Hip Hop was actually made popular through African American and Latino youth.

why we have all the great reggaeton artist we have today.
Don Omar is the face of reggaeton music today, but he was not always so popular. Don
Omar first started his career as a backup singer for Hector and Tito. Hector and Tito are some of
the oldest reggaeton artist today. Hector and Tito the first people to give Don Omar a shoot.
Don Omar would perform in clubs with DJs. Hector is the one who helped him create his first
solo album. Don Omars first album, The Last Don, went platinum and sold over one million
copies. He is the CEO of Orfanato, which is one of the biggest labels for Latin American
artist. He earned awards for Latin Pop Album of the Year and New Artist & Latin Rap/Hip-Hop
Album of the Year by the Billboard Latin Music Awards in 2003. Don Omars album Kings of
Kings became the highest ranking reggaeton album in history. It debuted at number one on the
Latin sales charts and the number one spot on the Billboard Latin Rhythm Radio Chart with his
single, Angelito.
Don Omar has changed reggaeton in all aspects. After he released his first album in 2003
he never looked back. Don Omar has done so much for the genre of reggaeton. He won Latin
pop artist of the year over a long span of years. Don Omar has stared in movies such as Fast Five
and Fast and The Furious. Some of his songs are even featured in video games, the latest game
was Grand Theft Auto V. People from all countries have herd of Don Omar. His songs are
popular to kids from being in different video games and different popular movies.
Reggaeton would not be where it is at today without Don Omar. He has done so much for
reggaeton and for the Spanish community. reggaeton. Reggaeton is one of the most diverse
