Summary of Personality Assessment

In the personality assessment I received the personality ENFP. This personality
test gave a great amount of feedback about the type of personality I have and how I
interact in different roles. The overall results of this assessment that are shown below
reflect that I am more extraverted, intuitive, prospecting, turbulent, and use more
feelings. The more specific results that I received from this assessment are that I am a
very enthusiastic upbeat person that likes to help anyone and everyone whenever I can. I
think more about life and the world as a big picture through noticing all the little things
that create it.
My strengths include; curious, observant, energetic, excellent communicator,
friendly, and ability to relax. On the other hand my weaknesses are; poor practical skills,
difficulty focusing, overthinking of situations and things, becoming stressed easily,
emotional, and a little too independent. In both the relationship and friendship area the
general comment made is that I, as an ENFP, am a very caring sincere person that just
wants to make other smile and laugh. As a parent I will share the beauty and wonder of
life with my children, which will allow me to be very close to them.
The assessment mentions that I am most likely to be working with people through
services or teaching plus a few others. In work places I favor exploring new ideas, and
working with people that are interested and enthusiastic about the same things that I am. I
do not enjoy being controlled or looked over in general. In the workplace I like to view
my coworkers and colleagues as more than just that. I would not do well in the
managerial position because of the fact that I dont do well when it comes to
reprimanding and directing someone through a job.

Reflection of Personality Assessment

I agree with almost the profile, ENFP is a very close fit to how I view myself and
how I feel about things. I think the area that I view myself most similar to the assessment
results is in the strengths area. Curiosity would definitely kill me if I were a cat; I am
constantly asking questions about people, things, and life, anything that crosses my mind.
Along with asking all these questions comes the observing aspect, everything is
connected in someway or another in my eyes. I do find myself to be a very friendly
person and try my hardest to be an energetic person. In my opinion my best aspect is that
fact that I do know how to relax and better yet I know exactly when I need to. Do to the

fact that I am such a people person and enjoy being in the presence of people so much I
am an excellent communicator. This is a relief because I have always thought I was but
ad never been told that I was a good effective communicator.
A part that I didnt agree with in the assessment results was the ENFP Manager
section. I have never thought of myself as having a problem telling people had to do a job
or giving them an outline of what is expected. The results that I would struggle with
workers of mine that needed strict guidelines and time limits to work under and I do not
think that I would struggle with that at all. The next point on the other hand I do agree
with when it comes to struggling as a manager. Being able to tell someone that something
is wrong or having to say anything negative in general to someone has always been hard
for me and most likely always will be. I am very uncomfortable when put into a
confrontational situation, no matter what side I am on.
Summary of First Communication Assessment
This communication assessment was decently short and to the point. It identified
that I was able to read people and adjust my style of interacting with them. It also
mentioned that I am talented at recognizing empathy and how important it is to
communicating and the way that can benefit my in the future. It is not likely that neither
the person that I am interacting with nor I am going to confused or misunderstand what
the other is trying to say to often because of my ability to adjust the way I communicate.

Reflection of First Communication Assessment

This assessment pointed out a lot of aspects of communication that I had never
thought of until taking it. I have always felt that I recognize empathy in others and do a
good job of showing it when needed in a conversation. It is nice to know that I am
flexible enough to not struggle in communicating effectively.
Summary of Second Communication Assessment
Different from the previous assessment, this one shows what is would take to
accommodate my style of a communicator. Being open to change and new ideas along
with opinions and views is a piece of the accommodation. I would need someone who is
patient when I jump from subject to subject and who can relate aspects of real life to what
we are learning or discussing.

Reflection of Second Communication Assessment

This assessment is spot on when it comes to my needs when working in a group
and learning. The part that stuck out the most to me is the line that discussed relating the
real world to learning. That is the best way that I learn and understand what someone is
trying to say. I enjoyed the line that discussed humor, that is one way that I break the ice
and get more comfortable with people. Being able to make someone laugh makes
everyone less nervous and uptight.
Summary of Third Communication Assessment
The last communication assignment that I filled out was more of a rubric style. I
was low in the time management area, meaning that my procrastination affected others in
group settings. I was strong in the preparedness and team support areas. Along with the
interacting with others, I am able to listen and support others even if I dont agree with
their side of the issue. Role flexibility is also another strong area for me because I can
easily switch between the roles of a leader back to a follower with no problem. I had a
low score in the self reflection category, meaning that I needed to do better about
assessing myself other than when I am told to do so.

Reflection of Third Communication Assessment

The time management was no surprise to me. I am the worst procrastinator that I
know, no surprise that this communication profile didnt get done in time to be looked
over by the teacher but is also being finished up in the hour it is due. I have always
struggled with this problem and have always told myself to get better about that but I
guess I am just procrastinating on that too. I have always been the cheerleader in the
group, making sure everyone feels comfortable saying what they want by welcoming all
comments, and even when they are wrong making them feel better about it. I dont mind
being the leader in groups but that is generally not where I like to be. So it was also no
surprise that I can move between the two so easily. A self-reflection is something that I
never think to do unless there is a break down in communication I will look back to see if
it was something I did or could have fixed. If things go good in communication I dont
think to reflect on the interaction.
Verbal Communication
In some aspects of verbal communication I struggle because of my awkwardness.
I tend to be very reserved in the beginning of conversations but do ok making
conversation. The closing of conversations is probably why I struggle the most. I am the
type of communicator that doesnt know when to stop talking; I dont like the silence in
conversations. When conversations are ready to come to a close I linger and dont know
when to actually stop talking. I am also weak in the summarizing aspect of verbal
communication. I dont think to summarize what someone talks to me about after the
conversation is over unless they are giving me specific instructions. My strongest area is
reinforcement. I have a talent for feeling other peoples emotions and also being able to
share those feelings with them. I am average at questioning in a conversation except for
when I am at work. When I am working with individuals with disabilities my level of
questioning always goes up. I am constantly asking questions to keep them talking to that
they know that I am interested and just to keep them talking in general.
Non-Verbal Communication
I severely struggle in the Non-Verbal Communication area. I am notorious for my
facial expressions that clearly state my opinion of everything I see and hear. No matter
what I say after I make one of my faces, my view of the situation has already been
communicated. I am sometimes good at eye contact but not usually. I have a tendency to
look off in the distance when I talk to elders or people of authority. The one thing that I
am good at doing is distancing myself from other people and it is one thing that I am
constantly working on with my people. They can so excited to see you that they forget
about your bubble so it is very important that I not only set the boundary and then lead by
example when in any conversation.
Listening Skills
Some places I fall short in this aspect of communication is preparing myself to
listen and listening to more than just individual words as they come out of the speakers
mouth. I have begun working on finding ideas in messages through reading poetry. I was
never any good at this in high school but now that I have found a poet that I can really

relate to I am able to read a poem and understand what it is trying to say. Reading these
poems has exercised my mind to be able to look deeper into everything I hear, read,
watch, and listen to. I easily can remove distractions and connect with the speaker
through nodding and even commenting or giving other nonverbal feedback.
Negotiation
I am a strong negotiator because I am able to look at the common goal and know
that each side could give and take and still make things even. I find it easier to help others
negotiate with others than to negotiate for myself with someone else.
Problem Solving
Problem solving is one of my strongest features. I am very talented when it comes
to determining what is the problem, the root of the problem and the best solution for that
problem. I have the ability to look at multiple sides of every situation and think about the
best solution over the easiest solution.
Decision Making
This area is my strongest and my weakest. I can sit and think about every possible
out come and what would be most beneficial for me that I waste over half of my time
thinking about what could, should, would happen. I can make very rational decisions
which is good but the amount of time it takes me to make these decisions is the bad part.
Assertiveness
I can communicate anything freely unless I know that it may cause confrontation,
then I am more reserved about communication what I want to say.
Conclusion
This communication profile has pointed many of my communication strengths
and made me feel more confident as an effective communicator. Along with identifying
my strengths, it helped point out areas that I can work harder on in order to become a
better communicator.
