is.
Correct!
Learnable Piece:
Today we are going to continue to work on our
skills of reading a clock by looking at both the
hour hand and the minute hand
Lets review what each tell us:
Hour hand: This is the short hand that tells us
what hour it is during the day
Minute hand: this is the longer hand that tells
us how many minutes past the hour it is,
specifically half an hour.
We will be going around to different stations in the
classroom, determining what time of day it is, and
following the physical activity directions that are
on the worksheet that everyone has.
Presentation of New Material/Directions:
Clock
worksheet
On task sheet:
Station 1: The clock will read 7 oclock.
Students will read the clock and write down
their answer on their sheet and draw hands on

the clock. They will then do 7 jumping jacks

for the hours
Station 2: The clock will read 10 oclock.
Students will read the clock and write down
their corresponding answer on their sheet and
draw in the hands. They will then do 10
lunges (5 on each side)
Station 3: The clock will read 11:30. The
students will read the clock and write down
their corresponding answer on their sheets
and draw in the hands of the clock. They will
then do 11 high knees and 1 sky jump.
Station 4: the clock will read 7:30. The
students will read the clock and write down
their corresponding answer on their sheets
and draw hands on the clock. They will then
run in place for 7.5 seconds
When everyone has completed their activity they
may sit back down in their searts for a review
Safety:
Since you will be in a group, watch your
surroundings when you are doing the physical
activity.
We are walking to each station so we dont run
into people
Check for Understanding:

Activity:
When I say go, everyone can start at their station.
I will give 30 seconds at each station and then we

Possible Modifications:
Add more time for them to complete each task.
Dont do half hours to make it easier
Lesson Review:
Did everyone find all the times?
Who can tell me the time at station 1?
Can you all show me using your hands to show
the time?
What was the time at station 2?
What was the time at starion 3?
Can you all show me using your hands to show
the time
Great job everyone!
I hope you feel more comfortable with telling the
time and we will continue to work on more
sophisticated problems.
