Taught two advanced English as a Second Language courses titled Women in Media
and Book Club.
Planned and taught content lessons about the role of women in different types of media
using reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Taught reading strategies using
short stories.
Chose and utilized authentic materials and activities to support the materials.

Resident Assistant: managed a dorm hall of girls aged of 14-24.
Activity Guide: worked with other program assistants to organize and lead 22 students on
daily activities, such as beach trips, bike rides, and day trips to Boston and New York
City.
Writing Tutor: assisted students with homework and essays, answered questions, and
provided a short lesson on English articles.
Designed and conducted College Life workshops, analyzing challenges faced by college
freshman and prepared high school students for college applications.

Communicative English Curriculum for Haitian Learners
2014
St. Andres Episcopal School in Hinche, Haiti
Conducted a needs assessment for a beginning English curriculum for the 6th grade.
Created a 27 week course based on the needs assessment findings: topics included
learning training, reflective learning, and situations Haitian English speakers will likely
use English. Activities were communicative and were supported by authentic materials
and interactive tasks.
Designed a communicative curriculum with a situational syllabus for the schools lowresource/low-tech, large class size context.

Presented on the history of Haiti, focusing particularly on its linguistic heritage
Introduced on the needs assessment for 6th grade English at St. Andres Episcopal School
in Hinche, Haiti.
Discussed the 6th grade curriculum and teacher training as well as materials to be donated
to the school.
