After finishing reading The Westing Game, written by Ellen


Raskin, students will use their Classroom Response Systems, or
Clickers, to respond to a twenty question assessment prior to
the beginning of the lesson. Students will then be assigned one
of the sixteen heirs in the novel. Directions for all subsequent
assignments will be found on Edmodo. After being assigned an
heir, students will be expected to do an in-class character
analysis, followed by an out-of-class assignment where each
student is to create a PowToon Presentation of the character
traits of his or her assigned heir.

As a whole class, I will go over


the correct answers to the
twenty question assessment.

Students will participate in a class discussion of character


traits for the sixteen heirs in the novel. Once finished with
the class discussion, students will log on to Edmodo to receive
directions for todays lesson. Students will then partner up to
create a mind-map character analysis of their selected heir
using BUBBL.US.

folder on Google Drive for
review as a class as a whole.

to complete his or her PowToon Presentation of character
