Student Midterm Evaluation of Internship
Please take a few moments to reflect on your internship experience to this point. Answer
each question as honestly as possible. Submit a copy to your university internship
coordinator upon completion of the midterm of the field experience. A copy should be
made and discussed with the agency supervisor. Candid discussions with the agency
supervisor on a continuing basis and of your reactions expressed on this form are helpful
for you to make your experience more meaningful.

1. Briefly summarize to date your experience in relation to your goals for the
internship.
I think my experiences of this internship do meet my goals. I did get a basic
understanding of the hospitality industry here in the U.S. and I also realized
the group sales process so far. I hope I would learn more specific sales skills
and go through the whole process. I think I would learn a lot useful things
during this internship and it would give me some valuable experiences as
well.

2. Is this experience what you expected? Explain.

Yes.
This internship is a good beginning for me because I want have my own
career in this industry. I understand more about the industry and group
sales as well, and now I have more useful information to create my plan for
my future career.

3. Is this experience helping you to accomplish your expected goals? Explain.

Yes.
My expected goals for this internship are to get a basic understanding of this
industry and gain some skills as well. During the fist three weeks internship,
I think I have accomplished some part of my goals and I do start have more

understanding and ideas about my position in the internship and the entire
industry as well.
4. a. Is your agency supervisor adequate? Explain.
Yes.
My supervisor divided my internship into three sections in order to help me
accomplish expected goals easier. Through the first section, 1 think I have
learned even more than I expected from my supervisor and other staff in the
hotel, and it is a great start for both my internship and my future career.
Therefore, my supervisor is certainly adequate.
b. Is the University supervisor adequate? Explain.
Yes.
I think I got a lot of information about the internship from the University
supervisor and he helped me through the whole process as well. The
University supervisor is very helpful for me to go through my internship and
make sure I am able to accomplish my goals during the internship. I think he
is very adequate.

5. How can the internship experience be more meaningful?

I think if I can be more active about my position and participate more in
the group sales process, and if I can have more opportunities to deal with
various problems occur in the process, then I will learn much more and the
internship experience will be more meaningful for me as well.
a. What can you do to make it so?
I should pay more attention to what happen during the sales process and
take opportunities to express my opinions about problem-solving and
some creative ideas if I think they may work during the process.
b. What can the agency do to make it so?
I hope the agency could give me more opportunities to participate in the
whole process to learn more different sales skills, and I think I will have
these opportunities in the following two sections of my internship.

6. What experience would you like to see given more emphasis during the remainder
of your time with the agency?

I hope I will have more chances to learn more specific sales skills and apply
these skills during my internship when I participate in the sales process. I
also hope that I will have chances to participate some of the event planning
programs in the agency because I am interested in that area and want to
have some relevant experiences during my internship.
