REQUIRED PAPERS:

You will be required to analyze the role of space and/or time in three
specific works of art, literature, music or philosophy. The three
specific works should be drawn from three of the four general periods
that we are covering in the course. You have the choice to write three
totally independent short papers, or combine two or three of the
analyses into a long paper, or a short paper and a longer paper. In any
case your papers should total between 15 to 25 pages and your paper(s)
should again be drawn from three of the four periods covered in the
course. It is up to you whether all of your papers deal with a single
type of works (say painting), or they each deal with a different type of
work (say painting, music and literature). Your papers will be due on
November 28, 2005.
