Unit also included postpartum patients with prior antepartum diagnoses or complicated cases post-delivery, such as

CNI 8HS Neurology Unit

Implemented nursing clinical care for patients with neurological diagnoses , predominantly CVA, intracranial
hemorrhage, post-craniotomy, cerebral aneurysm, MS, and myasthenia gravis.
8HS includes a specialized stroke unit, which is comprised of four high acuity stroke patients in need of frequent
monitoring of vital signs / neurological assessments and aggressive treatments
Other sub-units on floor include the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, comprised of patients with seizures that are
monitored continuously on video EEG, and the Emergency Admit Unit, which includes medical/surgical patients.
Duties include caring for ventilator-dependent patients, PCA, heparin drip, insulin drip, post-TPA care, blood
transfusions, and restraints
