Film/Video/DVD Commissioning Brief

Your Audience
Prospective students between the age of 17 -19yrs who have already taken an interest in studying at
the college. The film should target the more artistically inclined. There is no geographical, gender or
age preference.

The Purpose of the Video

The purpose is to show off the facilities and showcase the talents of the current students, the
facilities, resources and studios. It should inform prospective students of what is on offer if they
cant make it to the open day. It will be displayed on the college website and other social media.

Content
A selection of creative shots, close-up and wide, showing the diversity and creativity of the students.
The film needs to be as creative as possible to display the talent of the film students as well. It needs
to be inspiring, exciting and vibrant.
3-4 minutes with all departments represented.
It needs to be prepared for other college platforms and social media.

Ownership & Distribution

PCA will own the rights to the film however we can use it in whole or part in our portfolios and show
reels.
Talent release forms (for online exhibition) and music release forms need to be in place
The film will primarily be screened via the college website but will also be used on social media
platforms. The film needs to stand-alone and explain itself

Cost
Due to the nature of the commission, there was no budget required. However, we will be drafting a
virtual budget to highlight the potential cost involved and we will also invoice the client as part of the
process. We will offer a 100% discount so no charge will be made.

Timeline
The production needs to be completed by 2nd December 2014, with the client previewing the film
beforehand to make any changes before deadline. Will be uploaded to website on 3rd December.

Personnel
Main contact: Lucy Leake (the client) who will sign off the project in accordance with quality, content
and branding of PCA films.
All students involved including crew and talent will sign release forms.
