Charentes.
6. In Aquitaine, one can play football(soccer) and basketball as well as golf and surf. You can
practice these sports at clubs(soccer, basketball, golf) and the beach(surfing) because
Aquitaine is located on the coastline. How these sports are tied to the geography is because the
climate is warm in the summers and mostly mild in the winters you can surf for most of the year
if not all year round which also means a long soccer and golf season.

a.Lascaux-Lascaux are caves located in Aquitaine where there are paintings from the
Paleolithic Age. These paintings are estimated to be over 17,000 years old. The paintings
consist mostly of paintings of large animals.
b.Bastide Towns-Bastide towns are towns that were founded and built during medieval
times. Usually the 13th or 14th century. A lot of the towns have some of the original architecture
style to the buildings as well. Some examples of Bastide towns are Sainte Foy la Grande and
Beynac.
c.Saint Jacques de Compostelle- This means The Way of Saint James. This is a
pilgrimage journey to northwestern Spain to go to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
The reason people go there is because it is said that the remains of the apostle Saint James is
