Guided Practice/Application:
Students will break into groups and each research further on a different reason
for the Roman Empire falling by using their textbook and synthesizing the most
important information. They will then present the info to the rest of the class.
Review/Closure/CSU:
Students will write a ticket-out-the-door on which negative impact on Rome
had the greatest effect on leading to its collapse now that they have heard from
their classmates.
Independent Practice/Homework/Lesson Extension:
Answer Questions 1-4 in the Chapter 5 section 4 of their textbook.

How are Objective/Standards Assessed in this lesson?


Students will be aware at the end of the lesson of the changes Rome underwent before
reaching their downfall and the short term decisions and causes that had long term
effects.
