Benefits of Approving an Immigration Reform

Immigration is seen in any country, especially in the United States. Some people see
immigration as good thing because it can help out increasing its economy. Others see it as a treat
and think that all of the people that are coming in the country are just going to take their jobs.
Throughout history some U.S. presidents have given or approved laws that allowed immigrants
to stay in the U.S. without them being worried about getting sent back to their country. Although
many people disagree with the approval of an immigration reform, many believe that approving
the immigration reform would boost the economy, motivate young people to study and work
hard, keep families together, and save the country money.
Many citizens and politicians disapprove of an immigration reform, while others
approve of it because they believe it will have a big impact on helping the economy. Many
people have argued and explained that by approving an immigration reform it would boost the
economy by increasing tax revenues. Since there are thousands of undocumented workers that
are paid in cash, those workers are not reporting or filing taxes and that would cause tax revenues
to drop. By approving an immigration reform, more people are going to be able to work and
spend more money that will benefit the U.S. economically. In article The Economic Benefits of
Comprehensive Immigration Reform by Raul Hinojosa-Ojeda, he explains how the U.S.
government works only on having enforcement only measures (Hinojosa-Ojeda) and how an

immigration reform would help the country. Just like many people say this has been the closest
that we have gotten to approving an immigration reform and many think that a comprehensive
reform would raise the wage floor the entire U.S. economy( Hinojosa-Ojeda, Raul). By
approving an immigration reform in the 1980s, it showed how it helped improve the economy by
raising wages, creating more jobs, and have a positive effect on tax revenues that helped the
country.
Many people think of immigrants as being lazy, but others think of them as hard working
people who came to the U.S. to achieve the American Dream. Many people dont realize that
the reason why people decide to come to the U.S. is because they come for a better future for
them and their families. If the U.S. were to agree and approve an immigration reform,
undocumented workers and students would take that opportunity and work hard to get where
they want to go. In the article The View of Immigration Reform from the U.S.Mexico Border
by ORourke he explains how he has worked with the community of El Paso, Texas and his
experience there has made him see immigrants working hard just as everybody else. By allowing
undocumented people to stay legally in the U.S. it will allow them to achieve, give back, and
produce to their full potential benefiting the United States economically, civically, and
culturally(O'Rourke). People complain that immigrants that come to the U.S. come here and
take their jobs, but the jobs that immigrants come to do are the jobs that nobody want to do like
working out on plantation fields to pick out the fruit or vegetables to support their families in any
way they can. By approving an immigration reform workers will be able to pay their taxes
making tax revenues to increase.
People dont realize how terrible it is to separate families from one another. Children are
the ones that suffer whenever their parents are taken away because they are illegally in the U.S.

Leaders like president Obama have fought hard fought hard to approve an immigration reform
but when the bill was about be approved, but Republican leaders disapproved of it and the bill
has been stuck in House of Representatives for almost two years. Since families are still being
separated because of their legal status in the U.S and president Obama had promised an
immigration reform ever since he was elected back in 2008. He finally made a move since
Republicans leaders would not pass a bill, as he went on explaining how this new permit to stay
in the country without being worried about getting deported. President Barack Obama questioned
whether we are a nation that accepts the cruelty of ripping children from their parents' arms? Or
are we a nation that values families, and works to keep them together?(Obama). By approving
an immigration reform it will show that the United States is concern about all of the children that
are being separated from their parents. Helping families stay together will help build better
relationship in the communities around this country.
A number of people agree that by approving an immigration reform, it motivate young
people to go to school and work hard to have a better future than their parents. Just like the
president said last week people are going to get out of the shadows (Obama). Many young
people that are legally in the United States dont go to school because they are working to help
their family out because their parents are not legal in the U.S. By approving the reform young
people are not going to have to worry about their parents because they are going to have a law
that will protect them from being deported back to their countries. In the article Immigration
reform for innovation by MaryAnne M. Gbble, explains how approving an immigration reform
would help this country by encouraging young people to become someone important in our
society that will help and make a difference in our world. By encouraging children to pursue a
higher education it will help them become inventors and innovators(M. Gbble). There is

always a place for people who are willing to learn new things and invent new things and the
children are the future of this country that will help keep this country as one of the best countries
in the world. The United States has always been a country with open doors to students that have
the capabilities of furthering their education.
By approving an immigration reform it would not only improve the economy but it will
also help and save the country money. Sending back millions and millions of immigrants is just
making the country waste money on putting them on a plane and sending them back to their
original country. Most of the people that come here is because they are running away from their
countries because all of the corruption and violence thats happening. Ever since the beginning
of this country there has always been immigrants that come to have a better future. Last week on
the immigration speech by president Obama, he said that this is a nation of immigrants
(Obama). Ever since this country begun, its citizens came from different places around the world
seeking new opportunities and thats what all of these undocumented people are here for. By
approving an immigration reform the country will save time and money by not sending all of the
undocumented people that there is.
Immigration has been a problem of the past and will be a problem in the future but many
are willing to help others achieve the American Dream that everyone comes here hoping they
will achive. Although many disagree with the approval of an immigration reform others see it as
a benefit towards the country by improving the economy, motivate children and young adults to
become leaders of the future, keep undocumented families together, and save the country time
and money by not sending immigrants back to their country.
