INTRODUCTION
Research Questions (if research questions are not specifically mentioned, what is
the theoretical background or overarching theme):
What is the effectiveness of principals technological leadership, teachers technological
literacy, and teaching effectiveness?
Purpose of the research:
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among principals
technological leadership, teachers technological literacy, and teaching effectiveness.
METHODOLOGY
What is the methodology for the research or approach used to understand the
issue? Provide information regarding the following:

Participants: Randomly selected 1,000 teachers from 100 elementary schools.


Procedures: The survey sent randomly to the Director of Academic Affairs
Division of each elementary school. Then, the Director randomly selected the
teachers based on the cover letter sent to the school. The survey asked teachers
to evaluate the principals role in leading and facilitating technology use,
teachers technological literacy and teaching effectiveness in their schools. The
respondents in this study were teachers (i.e., tenured teachers, mentor teachers,
teachers serving as administrators and directors) reporting to their principals.
Data Collection Methods/Data Source: Survey
Data Analysis: This research empirically investigated the relationships among
principals technological leadership, teachers technological literacy, and teaching
effectiveness and tested the structural equation model (SEM). SPSS was used to
calculate scale reliabilities (the Cronbachs alpha) and to perform factor analyses.

The final SEM model was done with LISREL.

RESULTS
Findings or Results (or main points of the article): The result is principals
technological leadership improves teachers technological literacy development and
directly influenced teachers integration of technology into their teaching practices. Also,
teachers technological literacy directly affected teaching effectiveness. Principals
technological leadership also improved teachers teaching effectiveness.

Moreover, as technological leaders; principals must develop and implement vision and
technology plans for their schools, encourage the technological development and
training of teachers, provide sufficient technological infrastructure support, and develop
an effective school-evaluation plan.
As technological leaders principals cannot ignore the influence of technological
development outside of the school and principal should find out how to become an
appropriate technological leader in the school. Principal should guide the teachers to
implement technology into teaching. However principals should not only focus on
hardware needs of the school, they also should focus on implementation of technology
in the school.
REFLECTIONS
Students Reflections (changes to your understanding; implications for your
school/work):
If a principal can be a leader to encourage teachers to develop technological literacy and
implement technology, they will be more enthusiastic to use technology in their teaching
activities. However as a leader of the school even if the principal is not using or
developing technology; it is not really expected for teachers to use technology in their
classrooms. Technology implementation of school should be well planned and used by
leader of the school (principal). And then teachers should be encouraged to develop
themselves about technology literacy and implementation technology into teaching. As a
technology teacher I support and believe that, 21st century learning cannot be fully
effective without technology and every teacher must be guided and trained to use
appropriate technology applications that is related with their subject. No principal and

teacher should be irrelevant or uninterested to technology in schools. Since well trained


teachers will be able to use multiple technological applications in their classrooms, they
could have more chance to reach different students individual educational needs. I
believe that technology literacy definitely will improve teaching effectiveness of teachers.
