FALL 2014

Classes offered to kick-off the

2014-2015 Season are:
Pre-Ballet / Level 1
An introduction to ballet movements and musicality,
which develops the foundation for: good posture; selfdiscipline; listening skills; enhancement of fine and gross
motor skills; and helps to cultivate an awareness of the
use of space.

Ballet Level 2/3 (Fall)

Pre-Point Preparation (Winter/Spring)
Dancing in which conventional poses and steps are
combined with light flowing figures performing leaps and
turns at the barre and in the center of the floor. We will
improve our balance, coordination and core strength; and
Increase our understanding of correct body alignment
and ballet terminology through the practice of floorbarre. Throughout our season we develop an
understanding of proper class etiquette.

Tap Level 1/2 Intermediate Beginner

We have fun exploring popular music, dance history and
making our own noise through basic steps. By creating
movements using the sound of ones tap shoes hitting
the floor as a percussive instrument, we also help
develop an awareness of tone and enhance listening skills
that improve sense of rhythm and musicality. Our desire
is to confidently perform with ease.

Adult Ballet Barre/Fitness

Ballet can be fun and engaging at any age. Our adult
class will explore various techniques to achieve a
long, lean, beautiful body that is strong and in
proper alignment to perform the basics needed to
build a solid dance foundation. Combinations of
classical, traditional and modern styles of ballet
movement will encompass this stimulating class.

Coach Katies Monthly H*D*A:

(Healthy Dance Advice)

Dancing is a gift!
There is freedom in movement.

Work hard at being better each time you dance. Come with an
open heart and be ready to learn something new about yourself
and the way you move. When you believe in yourself and dont
give up, no matter how hard it may seem, you develop the
strength and endurance to share your gifts with the world.
