Student comments:
Emily availed herself of all opportunities to see different cultures and systems in
action from direct services to the legislative policy creation processes. Emily
participated directly in the crafting of proposed legislative changes and current
policy review. She assisted the office in gathering research to support these
proposals as well as to educate the committees. Emily again in this area required
little direction as she is self-motivated, highly intelligent and interested in many
aspects of the agency and State systems.
Emily can be frequently observed asking questions in order to fully analyze and
understand all the issues facing sexual assault victims in CO and all the systems
involved. Emily demonstrates open mindedness and compassion with regard to
the topics discussed and the complex issues presented.

Student comments:
Emily appears to understand white privilege and the complicating factors of race
and socio-economic standing with regard to access to services. She also appears
to understand the differences between rural and urban service delivery systems
and advantages / disadvantaged facing the two different areas.

Student comments:
Emily was in charge of researching current best practices and comparing them to
practices in CO as well as educating the research committee regarding these
findings. She demonstrated understanding of how evidenced based practices inform
legislation and conversely how legislation can promote or inhibit practices.

Student comments:
Emily understood that by changing payment laws and creating funding during the
last legislative sessions meant that 98 victims were served who might otherwise
have gone without assistance. She was able to extrapolate, without prompting, that
proposed changes in the laws for 2015 will further impact victims in positive ways
regarding access to services.
Competency 2.1.8 Engage in policy practice to advance social and economic well-being and to deliver effective social work services.

Student comments:
I believe this has been answered in prior sections however I wold add that Emily
was required and was able to collaborate with colleagues as she has a personable
communication style that allows her to establish rapport quickly. She is not
intimated by colleagues position titles and communicates with openness and ease
in a variety of settings.

I believe this section too has been answered with regard to Emily's skill and ability
to automatically assume a leadership role in her assigned duties as well as taken
on further duties on her own.

Competency 2.1.10 Engage, assess, intervene, and evaluate with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities.
Student comments:
If one considers the State systems of Forensic Compliance and services to victims
of sexual assault then Emily met and exceeded all expectations for a student
coming in from a Bachelor's level program. Her critical thinking skills and
understanding of the multiple systems and disciplines involved in the service
delivery and criminal justice systems for victims is outstanding. Her ability to
quickly grasp topics and theories she has not been exposed to before is both
refreshing and excellent.
Skills demonstrated at this macro level of service should be easily transferable to
any individual, group or community setting. Emily should be able to work
effectively at any social work setting she may choose to apply to. Emily's
performance as an intern has assured her of serious consideration should she be
inclined to apply to any current or future job openings within the agency.
