I. Purpose of the Lesson


Standard
3.1 Use vocabulary to introduce new words. Ask familiar questions to set tone before lesson.
5.1 Use YouTube videos to further explain the lesson
5.2 Use signs given to students before class to represent different answers.

Lesson Objective
Students will understand the life cycle and stages of a frog. Students will use their
observation and investigation skills to understand new vocabulary and interpret the videos.
Lastly, the students will be able to answer question comprehensively about the life cycle of a
frog.
Formative Assessment
At the end of the class, students should will have enough knowledge to complete an
evaluative handout. This handout will be collected during the next class.
Students will be assessed on correctly labeling the 3 stages of the life cycle of the frog.
Students will be able to successfully draw and label each stage.

Frogs have many steps in its life that eventually lead
to a fully grown frog. These steps and how a frog
survives in its environment is what will be covered
during the class period.

1. Talk about a Frogs life cycle. Have the students


hold up signs given to them before the lesson.
These signs are used to hold up and represent
each stage of Frogs life cycle.
2. Talk about the Frogs habitat, what a frog eats,
and their appearance.

3. Show a video of the lifecycle on YouTube.
