[RG]:Whats do you think is the biggest difference between the muslim culture and Christian culture?
[IS]: The biggest difference is that Christians believe in trinity, umm, that there is the father, the son, and
the holy spirit. We dont believe that, we believe that there is only one god and jesus was not son of
God. He was profit, thats what we believe in, thats the main difference.
[RG]: Whats the difference between a mosque and a church?
[IS]: umm, mosque is regulated like uhh the prayer that we go through is very step by step. Its cleansing
like before going into the mosque you have to cleanse yourself and then the prayer, rituals, are step by
step and you say the words that glorify god. In church its kinda free, ya know youre allowed to stand,
you can sit, you sing in the church and its different then mosque.
[RG]: what are the main values of Islamic culture?
[IS]:Believe in god, thats the first thing. Pray five times a day, uhh never mistreat your parents, always
treat other people very well. Umm violence is not the solution. Never hurt animals, people, or the
environment.
[RG]: Whats the hardest part of your religion?
[IS]: in islam youre not allowed to hold hands at all and thats kind of the challenge for me because I like
to date girls, ya know?
[RG]: Whats the best part of your religion?
[IS]: you have a connection to god and feel more spiritual.
[RG]: How does your religion influence your everyday life?
[IS]: I know what is wrong and what is right, and I try to keep my morals lined up as close to Muslim and
I do sin sometimes but no lying, stealing, killing, to be respectful.
[RG]: how are women treated? Like how they cover up?

[IS]: uhh women are actually treated much higher then men. There are certain rules in islam like in order
to get to heaven you would have to obey your mother three times harder than you would your father. If
a parent raises a daughter and she is a good daughter then that is automatically heaven to her father.
[RG]: what happens if you go against your religion?
[IS]:Like if I was to leave?
[RG]: yeah, what would happen?
[IS]: I mean I probably could but theres nothing that really happens. My family would probably try to
convince me to come back but other than that its my choice, they might get disappointed, but yeah.
[RG]: How were you brought into the religion?
[IS]: my parents were muslims, and the community I was raised in, ya know my friends were and then
coming to the united states made me learn more about muslim and I stayed muslim.
[RG]: Do women have any different rules then the guys?
[IS]: I dont think so. She has to be more modest.
[RG]: whats your outlook on extremist? And how peope stereotype?
[IS]: islam never teaches terrorism, and people who do terrorism are muslim scholars or are against
muslims are are condemned unless you change your ways. You are not allowed to kill people, not
allowed to harm people. Our religion especially now a days a lot of the middle eatern people are
uneducated and you know how that goes. They dont know what theyre doing and that translates to the
rest of the word that that is what muslim culture is about and its not.
