Spoke with Toni Salinas' father in Spanish about Toni's
behavior that day. He had gotten into a physical altercation in Mr. Anderson's class with another child. Since the altercation was verbal and resulted in the boys shoving each other and no punches thrown and this was Toni's first offense, we wanted to allow him and his wife to handle this at home but if there is a next time, he would get an office referral. Also let him know that the other child's parent was contacted as well and was being reprimanded accordingly. Mr. Salinas asked me what exactly happened and I explained to him that since I was not present at the time of the incident, I can only go off what the original teacher told me and I was only contacting him because no one else spoke Spanish. He understood, stated he and his wife would discuss it with their son, thanked me, and hung up the phone. Toni remained at the school for a couple more days. While he was there, he was more focused on his work and did not talk or play with his classmates as often as before. He left the school because his family moved and he had to transfer.
