The principal must provide appropriate professional development time and resources to
support effective classroom implementation of technology (Toy, n.d.).
1. Do you agree or disagree with this statement/topic? State your position.
Explain why the issue/topic is important. Go beyond just stating I agree with the

Your Position/Introduction:

Starting initiatives is appreciated but it will always bring resistance from the staff. That
might make the school lose some staff members as they wouldnt be comfortable ,mainly
because they were not listened during the decision making process. The best way is to
announce it at the beginning of this year that there will be required more technology
implementation in the classroom starting from next year (Toy, C.2008). If requested,
there will be provided training inside or outside of the district. Risk takers (if there are
some teachers who want to start this year they are more than welcome) should be
supported and rewarded.

2. What does the literature/research say about this issue/topic? Conduct NAU

Brief Literature Review:


There is a trend all over the world governments are investing more money to use
technology in learning activities (Savasci Aikalin, F. 2014)). One example for this is that
US federal government spent $5.2 billion to connect internet the schools and classrooms.
By 2000, 95% of schools and 72% of classrooms were connected to the internet (Quality
Education Data, 2000, as cited in Hogarty, Lang, & Kromrey, 2003).There are a lot of
new social media sites (Dougherty, K. D., & Andercheck, B.2014) can be applied to the
classroom which helps students increase their academic success and teachers to have a
better classroom management as kids are more engaged and on task.

3. Provide at least one example regarding your topic from a school you are
familiar with. If you are not working in a school, how would you implement your
ideas on this issue to your career? Be specific with your examples. You can
mention software/hardware names and specific methods that you plan to use. (At
least 1 paragraph)
Examples:

Edmodo is one of the great tools which can be applied in the classroom activities. Our
science teachers use this site very actively. It is designed for teachers who want to
manage assignments, projects on social media environment. This interactive page lets
teachers manage their students, send them immediate feedback and messages. It is very
easy for kids to use and it means less paper as it goes fully online. Teachers also like it as
it is very quick to grade the projects and send an instant message to students as students
need to redo it.
