Name of Artifact: Language Newsletter Date: March 2014 Course: EDUC 121: Child & Adolescent Development Brief Description: This creative newsletter was not one that was actually sent home with students, but its information is important enough that it should be! Parents were the target audience of this newsletter because it contains information about how children acquire language and the important role that parents/guardians have in this area of their childrens development. Inspirational quotes, family activity suggestions, and intriguing facts all related to language were also added to this newsletter. Rationale: To document my understanding of Leadership and Collaboration, I have selected to include my Language Newsletter Assignment because it demonstrates the ability to communicate in creative and effective ways with the families of students. The skills used in the making of this newsletter can also be implemented when writing letters that need to standout to colleagues and other school professionals. It is common for teachers to be required to write weekly or monthly newsletters for their students to take home to their families, so it is a form of writing that is beneficial to master.
