News: Vietnam's Health Minis ter Nguyen Thi Kim Tien dis c us s ed the c ountry's healthc are s ys tem in an
interview with the journal Health Affairs . The topic s dis c us s ed during the interview inc luded an overview of
the unique c harac teris tic s of Vietnam's health s ys tem, its s trengths and weaknes s es , health nanc ing
reform, the c ontrol and prevention of infec tious dis eas es and how the c ountry has performed in attaining
its Millennium Development Goals . A highlight from the interview was the Vietnames e parliament voting to
