Town of Queensbury John Strough and George Hilton for support on water quality issues

Focus for 2015

During 2015 we intend to integrate our work more closely with that of other water quality groups and
search for innovative and cooperative approaches to solve Basin-wide water quality problems. We will
engage in the following activities and possibly additional ones if funding allows.
Increase active membership
Work with the Town of Queensbury to design solutions for containing storm water runoff from
Sunset Lane and Assembly Point Road and for containing runoff from Otyokwa property
Encourage and assist residents to plant buffers and to retrofit their driveways that funnel storm
water directly to the lake
Encourage residents to voluntarily end their use of fertilizers and pesticides
Support a lake-wide effort to harmonize fertilizer and pesticide regulations
Continue to monitor algal blooms and invasive species and test
algae and water and systematically record the results
Support the Lake George Park Commission efforts to establish stream corridor and tree removal
regulations as well as strengthen its Aquatic Invasive Species program
