Ladies and gentlemen, we have all have been faced with a problem, one that has been present and
all too common throughout the centuries affecting many children worldwide, in industrialized and thirdworld countries. We plan, with your support and your partnership, to end this world problem.
Child abuse is a common concern for children all over the world. More than six million children
have been affected by this horrible act of crime. Its a crime that deals with the mental and physical health
of young children. Child abuse is usually done by family members who have distorted personalities from
the effects of their past. However, there are many more ways to cause child abuse. Either way, it forces
the children to face the pain child abuse or neglect provide. There could be physical distortions placed on
the victim. These changes can possibly last for a lifetime. The personality each children have is fragile. If
theres one change made to that personality, everything can be changed whether its a positive or a
negative change. Thats what child abuse does. It weakens the children and gives them personality
disorders for the rest of their life. There are
many forms that leads to child abuse.
Forms of child abuse
Child abandonment
Sexual abuse
Family violence
Physical Abuse
Emotional abuse
Neglect
Verbal abuse
Three of the most common forms of child abuse are Emotional, Neglect and Physical abuse.
Emotional abuse is abuse that is not physical but emotional. This act can include verbal abuse; from
frequent criticism, intimidation, and manipulation. Neglect is a form of child maltreatment, when an adult
fails to fully support a child or supply a child with important needs. Physical abuse is direct brutal abuse
that can include hitting, slapping, punching, etc. It may result in bruises, burns, broken bones, or cuts.
Abused children often show symptoms very early on, though they don't show it for fear of being
abused even more. However, a single sign may not mean it is a repeating problem, but if the problem does
re-occur, then it can be a sign of child abuse. Evidence of child abuse can appear in the childs mood or
behavior. The federal government defines child abuse and neglect as Any recent act or failure to act on
the part of a parent or caretaker which results in death, serious physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse
or exploitation; or an act or failure to act which presents an imminent risk of serious harm. Child
abuse/abandonment is a serious problem that needs to be dealt with.
Children that have had the experience of the feeling of being unwanted, abandoned by their own
parents may show symptoms later on. The consequences of child abandonment or neglect are huge and
unimaginable. Anxiety, lack of trust in others, low self-esteem, misconceptions, social effects, and
depression are all results of child neglect. If you cant trust your parents, who can you trust?
How We Together Can Publicize This Issue:

1. social media- Facebook page, Instagram campaign (@KEPT, #KEPTchange), Twitter (@KEPT,
#KEPTchange), YouTube channel
2. television commericals
3. newspaper articles and magazine articles
4. social interaction (direct human transfer of information)
5. League of K.E.P.T apparel- proceeds will go to developing more orphan shelters in third-world
countries
Can you believe it? More than 400 million children are abandoned all around the world. If the
number is this huge, imagine what it will be like for the next generation! A child becomes an orphan
every two seconds with nearly 5,760 more children becoming orphans each day. We need to take action.
We must help prevent this from happening.
It seems even more heartbreaking when they are left unwanted at the hands of a parent or a
caregiver. They are confused as to where they should spend their night or how they would be able get
their next meal.
Causes:
1. Poverty
1,000,000,000 of the worlds families live on less than a dollar a day. Being too poor to purchase
items or even put food on the table, a child could be sold into prostitution or work as a slave to support
the family.
2. Mental and physical illness
If the child has a mental illness, the parents may think their own kin is an abomination and
abandon them like it isnt theirs. However, if the parents have a mental illness, it could be a danger to
their children. They may abuse them and hurt them.
3. Lack of education
Either the parent or the guardian that were poorly educated does not have a job or high salary to
afford stuff or food for their family.
4. Drug or Alcohol Abuse
Most parents who abuse their children were affected from drug or alcohol abuse. The cause of
this? Child abuse itself. Parents who have been abused in the past take drugs in order to stay calm. This
usually leads to abusing the children which affects them negatively in order to feel better of themselves.
5. Cultural values
In China, Chinese girls having a higher death rate during their first year or first week after birth
than boys. This is because they think girls are not useful to society and the
fact that men have better qualities than girls.
Preventing Child Abuse
1. Learn the risks and the realities of child abuse. Child abuse is a real
and serious problem. Child abuse is everywhere.
2. Talk to children about this issue. Helping them understand about the
seriousness of this issue will help them come out if they have been
abused and will help them learn that this is a reality that could
happen to them.

3. Stay alert. Look for signs of child abuse, they are not always obvious, and children might hide the
signs as well. Look for signs to get the victims help.
4. Make in plan in case a child abuse situation arises. Stay calm and offer support to the child.
Acting out in panic/anger/disbelief might hurt the child even more by scaring them, so make a
plan in case a situation like this happens.
5. Get involved. Help prevent this problem by supporting organizations (like the League of
K.E.P.T.) and raise awareness about this serious problem.
Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, too many of our children fall victim to abuse. Although
many contribute to prevent child abandonment, we cant promise their security, yet what we are able to
do is guarantee that when children in this nation and around the world are harmed, we can convey equity
without further harming them.
If we, as a unified group, are going to end child abandonment and abuse, we are going to need
funds. Money provided by the United Nations, other generous organizations, and caring people that want
to make a difference. Money needed to improve the lives of abandoned and abused children.
These funds will help us establish orphan shelters for the abandoned, provide counseling for the
abused and hurt, and further educate the masses about the severity of this world-wide problem through
social media, television commercials, television shows, and newspaper/magazine articles. These funds
will help us connect all the people of this world together; awareness and news will spread efficiently,
accurately, and quickly; villains and criminals will be found and be put to justice, children will finally
receive the help and care they need and deserve.
No one should be left behind or assaulted because of who they are and how strong they seem. We
the K.E.P.T league, ask for your assistance in funding this cause and no child will suffer or feel lonely
again.

We currently ask for three-hundred fifty million /dollars to help fund this cause; although we
dont intend on entirely spending this money, we need five million dollars for assurance when purchasing
and building a network of people, establishments, advertisements, and social networks for the cost of
these objects that may rise or fall in the course of five years.
Thank you for listening and taking part in ending this worldwide problem.
