Languages are learnt

best when they

become a discrete part of the
everyday curriculum. Embedding

language learning at KS1 will lead to

outstanding practice as
children progress throughout the school.

In other words, our aim is to provide short,

enjoyable, manageable,
effective, confidence building
and purposeful French lessons at
KS1 .

Everyday , at the beginning of the day, class

teachers will introduce new language items via
an excellent website.
Teachers will be facilitators , not instructors.
The French team will be working closely with
the Year 2 team in order to make sure this is a
successful experience.
